Lusitano Male and Female Approval Calendar

APSL has released the following dates and locations for the 2022 approval of male horses for the Studbook:

• 29 January, Golegã (Picadeiro Lusitanus)
• 24 April, Alter do Chão
• 16 July, Companhia das Lezírias
• 22 October, Coimbra (ESAC)

All animals must produce a Certificate of Origin (Blue Book) and Spermogram, identifying the animal, the correct conformation of its external sexual organs, characteristics of its semen and a veterinary surgeon’s confirmation of reproductive capacity, without which it cannot be inspected.

The dates and locations for mares to be approved are as follows:

• District of Aveiro: 15 and 16 March
• Districts of Leiria and Coimbra: 5 and 6 April
• Districts of Castelo Branco and Portalegre: 19 and 20 April
• Districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Braga and Porto: 27, 28 and 29 April
• District of Faro: 10 and 11 May
• Azores: June

Registrations should be sent up to 10 days prior to the examination for males, and until january 31st for females.
